At The Dive Connection, we can offer professional level courses from Divemaster through to Assistant
Instructor level - and coming soon, Instructor Development Courses (IDC's) taking you all the way
through to the Instructor examination (IE) and a whole new way of life.

The first step on the professional ladder is Divemaster where you will act as a dive leader, guide and instructional assistant. You will develop your organisational skills, refine your pool skills to demonstration standard and learn how to provide assistance to PADI Instructors while they teach PADI courses. PADI Divemaster is a very rewarding course designed to help you make the most of your skills and aspirations.

If you get or have already got taste for teaching, then Assistant Instructor (AI) is the way forward for you.

Beyond Divemaster level, the AI course forms the first part (4½ days) of the full Instructor Development Course (IDC), and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program the latter 5 days. On completion of the full IDC, you will be fully prepared to be able to pass the Instructor Exam (IE).

The AI course will take your Divemaster theory and skills and help you refine and polish them into teaching and presentational skills, so that you will be able to plan, organise and conduct safe and enjoyable knowledge development, confined and open water course sessions.

The final part of the full IDC is the Open Water Scuba Instructor program (OWSI) which we conduct over 5 days. You will work with highly respected and experienced PADI Course Director Vernon Vas to further develop your presentational skills and theory to a level where you will take the 2 day Instructor Examination (IE) and pass with ease and confidence.

These are more than just courses, they will shape the way you are as a dive professional and who you choose to guide you through to becoming a PADI professional is probably the most important choice you will make in your dive career.

We have built a reputation for giving all our students the time, encouragement and space to not only pass their respective courses, but to surpass all the requirements, so that they complete their course as confident and relaxed divers. This applies to all courses from Open Water Diver through to Divemaster - everyone gets all the time and help they need. We don't believe in shortcuts.

We insist on small instructor/student ratios - as a Divemaster candidate you will often work one to one, or at most with another candidate - never more.

At Assistant Instructor/OWSI/IDC level, we insist on a maximum of 2 candidates per IDC Staff member. We believe this is the only way to ensure candidates get the best of attention and help.

We work with Vernon Vas, PADI Course Director - a highly respected and experienced dive educator who is always on hand and willing to help any candidate with their course, be it dive theory, knowledge development, confined or open water.
